In the search for the best burger in Magic Kingdom, you have a fairly sizable quantity of options to choose from. Quick service locations with burgers include Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe, and Tomorrowland Terrace. Table service locations include Liberty Tree Tavern and The Plaza Restaurant. The average burger cost (+ fries…or apples) is $13 for quick service and $20 for table service.
Apparently, the chefs of the Magic Kingdom love bacon-cheeseburgers because they can be found at most every location. You’ll also find a smattering of plant-based burgers and a few limited time burgers that seemingly exist solely for moving whatever food-like product supply chain over bought for the quarter. On condiments, Quick service locations include condiment buffets while table service locations go the extra mile and place, lay, or squirt the condiment on the burger for you.
But enough of the basics. All of this burger talk is leading us to the answer you came looking for….
Where is the best burger spot in the Magic Kingdom?
We say the best burger in the Magic Kingdom can be found at Liberty Tree Tavern.
An original Magic Kingdom opening day restaurant, Liberty Tree Tavern sticks to the colonial America theme of the land in which it resides and pays tribute to our founding fathers.
Why it's the Best
While there has been minor changes to the burger entrees over the years (e.g. a bun change here and there), we’ve always found Liberty Tree Tavern burgers to consistently be near top end of the Disney park quality range.
Liberty Tree Tavern burgers get a leg up on the Magic Kingdom competition simply by not being a quick service burger. While I happen to like Disney quick service burgers, I will admit there’s quite a quality bump when moving to a table service burger.
The good news is, there’s not a ton of cost difference in the jump from . For roughly $7 more than the average quick service burger, you’re getting a better quality burger, better sides, a more comfortable dining experience, and table service…service. At Liberty Tree Tavern, you’re also picking up the inclusion of bread service, thicker cut fries, and an opportunity to try the famed Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake for dessert. The latter points give it slight nod over its Main Street competitor The Plaza Restaurant.
Contextually, I do think it’s important to remember we’re still talking about a theme park burger, so set your expectations accordingly.
When you should visit
If you want to enjoy a burger from Liberty Tree Tavern, you’ll need to do it for lunch…or at least before 3PM. This location flips to a family-style menu at dinner that excludes the burger option. Because Liberty Tree Tavern is a table-service restaurant, you will need a dining reservation,
What you should order
Liberty Tree Tavern offers two burgers in it’s current line-up: the bacon-cheeseburger and, what they call, the BELL burger. The BELL burger takes your typical burger toppings and adds an egg and lobster. As great as that sounds (said no one), we say just order the bacon-cheeseburger and call it a day. You can’t really go wrong with this option.
How you can locate
Liberty Tree Tavern is located on the east side of Magic Kingdom in Liberty Square and near the beginning of the river bank stretch down to Frontier land. It’s just south of our favorite Magic Kingdom quick service establishment, Columbia Harbor House. See the map below for details.
Your next best option
If outside the 11am – 3pm time frame, your only other table service burger option is going to be The Plaza Restaurant. The Plaza currently only lists the brisket burger as an option for dinner, but I’m 99.9% sure they’ll make you a cheeseburger on request.
